Let’s use our food waste to grow some food!

For over a year I have been composting food waste – uncooked and cooked – of twelve households in East Whins in The Park Findhorn. I have been using the compost on my garden in front of the Sunshine Room, where I grow vegetables very successfully.

In the beginning of December 2018 I got approval from Park Planning Group to move this project to the strip between Diamond Wood and the road to the Whins. On this strip I can expand what I’m already doing so I can make more compost – not just for me but to create opportunities for community members to grow some of their own vegetables!

With the compost we will create raised beds, probably with potato boxes. They are high so people who can’t bend over so easily can use them as well.
